After 25 years of health care experience, McInnis now leads the value based care strategy at LabCorp. As president of Blue Thorn health care consulting, McInnis partnered with clients on the delivery system and financial realignment necessary in transforming the US health care system to a viable and sustainable model. Her leadership in the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) resulted in the successful launch of the PCPCC Resource Guide: Integrating Comprehensive Medication Management to Optimize Patient Outcomes,  a critical resource for medication management in PCMH/ACO success. Her previous experience includes serving as chief of flight medicine as a US Air Force flight surgeon, in private and hospital-based clinical practice, and as corporate medical director for Michelin North America. She served as associate medical director and benefits manager for North and South Carolina for G.E. Power Systems, as medical director for Health Policy and Advocacy for GlaxoSmithKline,  and chief transformation officer for CHESS with Cornerstone Healthcare. 


Currently she is board chair of the Alliance for Integrated Mediation Management (AIMM), a director on the Board of Pharmacy Specialties, and recently was the principal investigator for "Get the Medications Right", a report highlighting the key attributes of 15 expert unique ambulatory/community comprehensive medication management practices integrated in primary care, ACOs,  and other care settings throughout the U.S. Her unique executive experiences enable “practical” transformational solutions.

 

McInnis earned her medical degree from Wake Forest University. She earned her master's degree in public health and did her residency in occupational and environmental medicine from Oklahoma University.  She is board certified in preventive medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and is a certified physician executive.
